COWBOY TENTSThe Range Tent
My Range Tent, with its nylon loop sewn to the peak, can be suspended from a tree limb to avoid packing poles. It's made of 10.38 Oz. Sun forger Army Duck, with a vinyl coated polyester duck (Calliope) sewn- in floor. The Army Duck is a tightly woven double fill cotton canvas and Sunforger is a Marine treatment for water and mildew resistance. The advanced feature designed into my Range Tent is the way the canvas is cut, creating a para-wing design where it is connected to the floor. This upward arc keeps the canvas from touching the wet ground and eliminates the need for center staking. The seam here is double sewn, not simply bound, and this allows water to flow over and not into the seam. I make three sizes: 8' square & 7' tall, 10' square & 8' tall, and 12' square & 9' tall. The 10' range tent is the most common and economical choice. With D-rings attached on 3 walls, you can increase the inside space by pulling the walls outward. The door is zippered shut with a #10 nylon coil zipper that is concealed with a 2.5” weather flap. A snap hook is sewn into the inside to hang a lantern. This tent looks really cool lit up at night. Range Tents come standard with a zippered canvas door and a sewn in floor. Screen window, Screen door, and A-Frame sold separately.
Range Tent Package The 10' Range Tent Package comes in two canvas types, the 10.38 oz Flame Retardant, and non-flame retardant. The window is in the upper rear panel. A screen door, A-frame, and tent stakes included.
Range Tent Options Screen door An optional zippered polyester screen door can be added, Screen window As well as a “tuff“ Texteleen vent window with a water proof flap. A-Frame Ideally the tent is best supported by two poles. I make an A-frame out of 1 3/8” tubing that beaks down into 3' sections. It has a carabineer bolted to the apex for quick set up and take down, and comes in its own pole bag.
Range Tent Fly Here's a unique design you won't find anywhere else. This fly extends over the door and gives your range tent more protection in extreme weather. It is made of lightweight TEX-TEX and slips over the entire tent exposing the tent's nylon loop at top ,then attaches at the ground stakes with bungee loops . A dormer can be placed on the rear of the fly just like the front to vent the rear window of the tent. ( This is custom and requires an additional 5' pole and guy rope.)
Range Tent Cook Fly Three sizes, 8', 10', 12', square, with a triangle sewn to one side that gets fastened to the center loop on the Range Tent. This will keep water from rolling into the door and adds a great area out of the sun, in front of the tent to enjoy.
Range Tent Awning I especially love this add-on. It makes it so you can have the door open while it is raining. The top of this add-on awning scoops over the top of the Range Tent exposing the nylon loop. At the bottom, bungee loops secure the awning to the front tent stakes. There is a 5' pole that lifts the awning over the door of the tent and is guyed out to the front.
