Lodge Poles Real Lodge Pole pine trees
don't grow in southern Colorado. We harvest them
ourselves in Utah. I say “We”, because
this is one job where I'll take all the help I
can get! We peel them and sell them to you for a
$1.25 per foot. You can figure on needing a
pole at least 5' longer than the size of the
tepee. The longer the pole, the better it will
look. And just think, by the time you drag the
pole from Durango to Dallas with your pony,
you'll still have pole enough to set up your
tepee!

The
liner The Liner is very important for proper
draft when heating with an open fire. I prefer to
use 5.5oz. Sunforger. It has
a soft tan color, and is flame-retardant. I
make them 6' tall and sew a 12' sod cloth that
lies on the ground. The floor commonly lies on top
of the sod cloth. But better yet! Let me sew the
floor to the bottom of the liner and then it
feels like wall to wall flooring, verry cool.
Ties are sewn at the top, and middle, and
get tied to lines that encircle the poles. Loops
are sewn to the bottom of the liner, here it can
be staked to the ground.
Tepee Floors
I have started sewing the bottom of the liner
to the perimeter of the floor. This eliminates the
need for a sod cloth on the liner. It's like
wall to wall flooring in a tipi and I have to say
could be at the top ten of good ideas in this
shop. I strongly recommend Woven vinyl. This
guarantees no rotting. You can cover it in most
places with your own floor coverings.

Complete Teepee Packages
When you buy a Tepee package you get the floor
and the liner sewn to each other. This is a really
great advantage because once the floor is staked
down the bottom of the liner is automatically
secured down as well. No critters will get into
your living area and the outside breezes can not
enter either. The poles are included and your
choice is between flame and non flame retardant.
The Tepee Package includes: flame or non flame
12oz. tepee cover, poles, woven floor, flame or
non flame liner, ropes, stakes storage bag, and
set up instructions.
SHIPPING: Call for pricing; freight charges
vary greatly depending on the pole size.
(Usually between $150.00
and $300.00).
